Discover our range of fully recyclable pouches

Pouch5, the monomaterial pouch designed for recycling

In the past, most multilayer multimaterial laminates and pouches on the market have not been suitable for collection, sorting or recycling. In this framework, Gualapack in 2020 brought a breakthrough alternative to the market: Pouch5®, a monomaterial stand-up pouch, recyclable as polypropylene (PP), within existing PP streams.

As a world leader in premade spouted pouches, we know that flexible packaging is more sustainable, as it produces less waste compared to rigid alternatives. With a recyclable pouch, we offer the perfect solution: a more environmentally friendly, light-weight and secure flexible packaging.

Available in different formats, our monomaterial PP Pouches are available for hot fill and pasteurised applications or for chilled and dairy applications, offering a high oxygen and water vapour barrier.

Why Pouch5 is a sustainable choice

Consumers are increasingly prioritizing sustainability, and flexible plastic packaging offers a product-to-package ratio that is 5 to 10 times greater compared to rigid alternatives.

This means less material is needed for the same amount of product, resulting in less waste once empty. Additionally, lightweight and compact packaging reduces the volume to carry at every step in the supply chain, significantly lowering the carbon footprint generated by transport.

Moreover, flexible pouches can be used to refill rigid containers, multiplying your positive impact.

By choosing a monomaterial pouch like our Pouch 5, you can further benefit the planet. Pouch 5 is an eco-friendly packaging option that can be processed in the PP stream and recycled as plastic, transforming into a new resource avoiding landfill waste.

Our portfolio of recyclable solutions enables customers to meet the goals of the EU Plastics Strategy , the PPWR and national regulations, which stipulate that all packaging placed on the EU market by 2030 must be reusable, recyclable, or compostable.
