On November 30th, Gualapack was honored to host a delegation of 15 students and professors from University of Pavia in its Alessandria headquarter and plant. The international students are part of the Sustainable Management class of the 2 year Master in International Business & Entrepreneurship, entirely taught in English, which aims to develop managerial capabilities for the governance of change within complex as well as multinational contexts for the managers of tomorrow.
Representatives from various areas of the Company (HR, Marketing & Communication, Sustainability and Production) supported the students in sharing their experience, knowledge and passion. In open sessions, Gualapack team shared insights and characteristics of the packaging industry, information on the Group development and growth as well as on our Company Mission and Values and demonstrated how those are embedded into day by day behaviors. After a visit of the production lines of Castellazzo Bormida, where our experts shared their technical know how on the various processes and technologies applied, the group focused the rest of the afternoon discussing sustainability related matters. The discussion focused on the opportunities embedded into flexible packaging when it comes to reducing resource consumption, waste generation and CO2 emissions, and concluded with developments toward recyclability. Of course, the best example of the journey toward circularity of packaging material is the Pouch 5 which was highly appreciated by the audience.
This initiative is part of a broader approach adopted by the Group in engaging local institutions such as universities and schools, finalized at sharing information about the industry, building proper knowledge of the flexible packaging opportunities and the results achieved so far by Gualapack.
